Self-leadership Circles
A shared language for teams under pressure

Small-group transformational coaching where teams learn to stay clear, calm, and connected - in real work moments, not just in theory.

Fully remote • Great for hybrid & distributed teams • Easy to implement

No pressure. Just a real conversation.

If this is happening on your team, you’re not alone

  • People go quiet when stakes are high

  • Feedback triggers defensiveness or shutdown

  • Decisions stall because the real issue stays unspoken

  • Meetings feel tense, vague, or overly polite

  • Collaboration slows down - even with great talent

Most organizations respond with more training, better tools, or another framework...

But what’s often happening is simpler - and deeper:

When pressure hits, protective patterns take over.

Self-leadership Circles give teams a practical way to notice that in real time, reset, and move forward together.

What Self-leadership Circles Are

Self-leadership Circles are an 8-week, small-group program where teams build a Shared Language for staying grounded, clear, and connected - especially when pressure is high.

Each week, participants learn simple tools, practice with real work situations (feedback, conflict, tough decisions), and strengthen the relational trust that makes collaboration easier.

Not training. Not therapy.

A practical space for how people actually show up at work - and how to shift it.

What Changes When Teams Practice This Together

Every team is different. But over time, people notice shifts like:

  • More honest conversations earlier (less avoiding, less buildup)

  • Feedback becomes more workable (less defensiveness, less shutdown)

  • Conflict gets cleaner (more repair, less tension lingering)

  • Meetings become more effective because less energy goes into managing reactions

  • People speak up more when stakes are high

  • Cross-functional collaboration becomes smoother

  • Teams move faster - not by pushing harder, but by reducing hidden friction

  • People can name what’s happening without blame and return to clarity faster.

"What It Actually Feels Like?

It's subtle at first. Someone pauses before reacting. Someone names what's happening instead of pushing through. A hard conversation ends differently than it would have a month ago.

Over time, there's less managing of each other. Less walking on eggshells. Less energy going into the tension underneath.

The work doesn't get easier. But the way people move through it together does.

And here's what we don't always say upfront: this isn't just a work skill.

The language people learn here goes home with them. It changes how they navigate conflict with a partner, how they talk to their kids, how they relate to themselves when they're overwhelmed.

We're not teaching a framework for meetings.

We're offering a way of being with yourself and others that makes everything more workable - at work and beyond.

That's not a side effect. That's the point."

The Format

  • 8 weekly sessions (60–90 minutes each), fully online

  • 8 - 16 participants (small enough for depth, big enough for perspective)

  • Two facilitators in every session (Level-3 IFS Practitioner/Coach + Organizational Psychologist)

  • Real work scenarios (not theory, not role-plays - your actual situations)

  • A simple rhythm of tools + practice + integration

  • Designed for distributed, hybrid, and global teams

  • Implementation is simple: calendar invites + Zoom link

Why This Works So Well Remotely

Remote and hybrid teams often need this more attention, not less - because repair and connection don’t happen by accident.

  • No travel or logistics - easy to launch

  • Works across time zones and distributed locations

  • People join from their own space (often safer for honest reflection)

  • Shared language becomes even more valuable when you can’t read body language

  • Tools transfer directly into Zoom meetings, Slack, and 1:1s

Remote teams often tell us: “We needed a way to repair tension without hallway conversations - this gave us that.”

What People Learn

Self-leadership is the ability to access your best qualities - even when you’re triggered, overwhelmed, or under pressure.

In a work context, that means learning to:

  • Notice when you’re reactive (defensive, shut down, perfectionist, people-pleasing)

  • Reset in real time instead of reacting on autopilot

  • Stay present in tense meetings, hard feedback, and conflict

  • Speak with clarity - even when stakes are high

Over time, people learn to access what’s already there underneath the protection:

Curiosity • Clarity • Calm • Compassion • Confidence • Courage • Connectedness • Creativity

The language becomes part of how your team actually talks

  • “A part of me is getting defensive - give me a second.”

  • “Let me check in before I respond.”

  • “I think we’re activated - can we pause and come back to this?”

  • “My perfectionist part is taking over - I need support.”

This shared language makes difficult conversations more doable, feedback more workable, and tension easy to address early.

Who Self-leadership
Circles are For

Strong fit if you…

  • Lead a team or support teams (People Ops, HR, OD, leadership development)

  • Notice interpersonal dynamics slowing execution or draining energy

  • Want something deeper than surface-level team building

  • Can commit 60–90 minutes per week for 8 weeks

  • Value peer-to-peer learning and culture change

  • Work remote, hybrid, or distributed (this format works especially well across distance)

Not a fit if you…

  • Want a one-time presentation or a quick fix

  • Only want traditional leadership training

  • Aren’t ready to look at what’s happening beneath the surface

  • Can’t commit the time
